Melissa's 10th album, "Crimson Daughter" is the result of her year-long journey back to wholeness after losing her first baby to a miscarriage. "I didn't plan to make this album, but the songs just started pouring out of me and wouldn't stop."

Marrying Celtic and World instrumentation with electronic beats, "Crimson Daughter" is a fusion of modern and traditional, old stories and new paths, broken dreams and mended hearts. Irish whistles interweave seamlessly with trip hop beats, while pianos circle round heavy electric guitar licks. And, for good measure, there's a fun little bluegrass tune, "because every album needs something happy."

The album features four songs co-written by Melissa and her friend Jordan Jenkins from Hawaii, who goes by the producer name Kamu. And Melissa's former Mythica bandmates make appearances as well, with Matt Smith on bass, and Erin Flynn on violin.

For fans of Tori Amos, Loreena McKennitt, Massive Attack, and Sarah McLachlan, this album a must-add to your musical collection.
